The eurozone economy grew by 0.3% in the second quarter

According to the statistical office of the European Union, the eurozone countries showed economic growth of 0.3% compared to the previous three-month period. The indicator coincided with analysts' forecasts. 


The final data is expected to be published on September 7, while this growth is the second of three estimates of GDP. 


Compared to the same period in 2022, the eurozone economy increased by 0.6% in the period from April to June, which is also in line with analysts' forecasts. 


At the same time, the GDP of the entire European Union remained unchanged in the second quarter and showed an increase of 0.5% compared to the second quarter of 2022. 


By individual countries: the German economy remained at the same level, the French economy increased by 0.5%, Spain's GDP showed growth of 0.4%, while the Italian economy shrank by 0.3%.
